About

Hi, my name is Rev. Jules Ngangmeni

“My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
Psalm 42:2 (NIV)

A few words about me

I started My Thirst For God back in 2012 – but, truth be told, I always needed God. And, probably, so have you!

That’s why I’m here: I want you to get closer to Him. Throughout my life, I tried different ways to get a better relationship with God. Praying, for example, is a great way to do it. And I encourage you to try it every day! But, when I need help the most, I always turn to the Bible. Our Holy Book has all the answers that I need (and that you need!) – but we can only get them if we know how to read the Book properly.

There's more than a 2000-year-old gap between our modern times and Biblical times.

If you can overcome that gap, you’ll find all the answers you’re looking for! That’s why I think Bible study is so important. And that’s why I would love for you to sign up for one of my courses. I dedicated long years of my life to study and comprehend the sacred texts.

You too can become a better Christian and have a better life by studying the Bible! Let me help you get closer to Him and to understand our Holy Book. If you have any doubts or questions, you can contact me.

No matter what you’re looking for, always remember we have the Lord on our side!

Thirsty for God

I remember years ago when I used to play soccer in the heat of the day in Cameroon, Central Africa, a glass of water was priceless as it came right at the moment when it was needed the most. Running, playing soccer, or any other sport that requires us to exert a lot of energy leave us generally in a real need of water. Can we understand what thirst can do to us at that very moment?

I recently watched an old movie where the main protagonist was lost in the desert for a long time without water, having been derailed by his enemy (who he thought was his friend) who wanted to avenge what he had suffered earlier from him.  As I watched him struggling and having hallucinations and trying to get even a drop of water, I understood even more than my need for a drink of water after or during a soccer game is nothing compared to the real challenge this protagonist faced. Oh how he was in pain and everything changed in him! His countenance changed, his demeanor changed, and his life changed as well.   As Clint Eastwood was struggling in this desert, I could only imagine another scenario in which I am the one struggling…

My life has sometimes run out of water, I have felt everything fading and the end so near. Was it because of sickness or any other trial that I realized I was empty and thirsty for something I did not identify at the time? My life has taken various turns so many times. I have wandered and I have come to the same conclusion over and over again, I need more of God every day. I am thirsty for God, a thirst I cannot and will never be able to quench by myself. I trust God to lead me and give me more of the living water, more of Him every day.

Together in this journey

I would like to identify with you as you identify with some of my experiences in your journey on this site. What are we thirsty for?

I generally ask myself this question over and over again.  I think of several things that are precious and that make my days. I wake up with great resolve every morning, wanting to serve the Lord faithfully. I have a devotion plan, a prayer plan and I trust the Lord to lead me. I have many places I think of visiting, I have joy doing things for the Lord like evangelizing and encouraging other people to trust in the Lord. I like books and invest a lot in them. I like music, and spend a lot of time listening to sacred and gospel music. I also enjoy Christian Movies and find myself watching them and thinking of ways to use them for evangelism purposes. What a treasure of things that lay there for me!

Four years ago, a sister of mine had my children count her pairs of shoes and after reaching about two hundred and fifty pairs, they could not believe it, and this was about half of what she had at the time… you talk about treasure?  She treasured shoes and clothes!!!  Holding onto them and not letting any of them go, not for any reason.  Yes, in a way it is her treasure and she treasures what she owns. This reminds me of what our Lord said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” Matthew 6: 21 (NIV), part of great advice given to help us: “Don’t hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it’s safe from moth and rust and burglars. It’s obvious, isn’t it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being” Luke 6: 19-21 (The Message).

Wanting more of God

What am I thirsting for?

I am thirsting for God, and I need more of Him every day. I love to love the Lord. I pray to love Him more every day. I seek His face to look into what can help me to love Him more and more.  I thirst for God when I see His miracles in my waking up every morning and when I am able to get some rest at night, thinking that He has been so good to me. I thirst for God when I look at my children growing as a sign of God’s grace for me. I thirst more for God when I admire the great gift of a wife he has given to me, my life, and my all given by the great God I serve!

My thirst for God will bring me in the heart of my God, the true and living God, and the One and Only for Whom I thirst. He is the Great I AM!

Rev. Jules Ngangmeni

Biography of Reverend Jules V. Ngangmeni

“THE WILL OF GOD:  NOTHING LESS, NOTHING MORE, NOTHING ELSE.”

Dr. Jules Ngangmeni was born into a Christian family of five brothers and three sisters and matured under the watchful eyes of Christian parents. He learned Bible stories, Bible verses, and songs at an early age and practically grew up on the front church pew. At a tender age he chose to receive Jesus Christ personally as his Savior.  As a teen, he opened the door a little wider and made Jesus Christ the Lord of his life and testifies that “His Lordship brought me divine guidance through decision-making times at school, into a career, marriage, a family, and Christian service.”

Reverend Ngangmeni served as a Youth Minister and as Marriage Counselor with the Evangelical Church of Cameroon in the country of his birth for more than 12 years.  He also taught Bible School and served as one of the spiritual leaders with the Bible Fellowship Movement of Cameroon before settling in the United States, where he has continued to serve the Lord faithfully in Christian Ministry.  It was while serving with the Bible Fellowship Movement that Rev. Ngangmeni felt the call of God on his life to become a missionary in foreign countries ministering to the masses of lost souls and bringing them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  He began his missionary work as far back as 1993 when he answered the call to Congo.  A graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a Masters in Pastoral Leadership, Reverend Ngangmeni brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his calling.
